Database Guide
Welcome to engage, a project management database for Australian local governments.
engage has been designed to support councils develop and implement projects that engage their communities to achieve sustainability outcomes, such as reducing residential emissions, improving biodiversity and increasing the use of sustainable transport. It is based on best practice behaviour change principles to help you drive real change in your communities. The database is part of the engage set of services offered by Meiklejohn Consulting, where we work closely with you to deliver your projects. This guide will take you through the engage database using example videos for the different elements. engage is a relational database bringing together your projects, the people in your community who participate in your projects as well as local community groups. It is designed to bring together various databases you may already have (e.g. in Excel) and share them amongst your team. We start with projects. |
The next table is Contacts.
This is where you keep data about everyone who has participated in your projects. You may have information about people who get your newsletter – you can add those records here. If you have a lot of records, we can add them for you rather than you having to do each one manually. Contacts shows what projects people have done, what local community groups they may be involved with and actions they have undertaken. |
Finally, we have Groups, where we list all community groups, their area of focus, their contact details and any members that are on our database.
|
This draft database is for you to play around with and add your own projects and contacts. We can easily remove the fake contact and project details here and help you populate it with any of your own data.
The engage database is also fully customisable so if there is other data in other fields you want to collect, just talk to us and we’ll work out a solution. If you have any problems, please just send an email to David ([email protected]) or Manon ([email protected]), and have fun. |
